64-year-old Alabama man is facing trafficking charges after police found 8 different drugs in his car
There are many reasons why a police officer might pull over a driver for a traffic stop. However, they never know what they’ll find once they make contact with the driver. Recently, police in Alabama were shocked by the amount of drugs they found in a situation like this after pulling over a man in Jefferson County.
This traffic stop ended with the driver in handcuffs for drug trafficking
According to WBRC, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s officer was on patrol when they noticed a vehicle committing an infraction. This caused the police officer to pull the driver over for a traffic stop. Luckily, the man behind the wheel complied instead of trying to evade the officer. It’s unclear what caused things to escalate, but the police on the scene searched the vehicle.
Of course, police searching a vehicle during a traffic stop isn’t unheard of. However, what they found in this one is. The driver, Tim Rozell, 64, had a large amount of narcotics. Notably, some of the drugs were packaged as though he was in the process of selling them. They include the following:
- 36 grams of marijuana
- 23 grams of crack cocaine
- 42 grams of meth/fentanyl
- 16 grams of meth
- 44 grams of Clonazepam
- 5 grams of Suboxone
- 10 grams of Buprenorphine
- 36 grams of Prednisone
As mentioned, this traffic stop ended with the 64-year-old man being taken to the Jefferson County jail and held without bond. They are charging him with drug trafficking. This arrest follows the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office executing an operation in the area due to increased drug activity.
