I won’t speak for all billionaires as I’m not even close to being one. However, a Honda Civic is a surprising choice for a daily driver. With that much money, it seems like you could have a personal chauffeur, but Lucy Guo prefers her ‘pretty old’ sedan.

30-year-old billionaire drives old Honda Civic to avoid wasting money

Lucy Guo is a 30-year-old billionaire who currently lives in Los Angeles, California who hates wasting money. That’s why instead of supercars and luxury SUVs, she drives a humble Honda Civic sedan.

This is a pretty interesting choice in my opinion, because people typically only drive old cars if they can’t afford a new option or if they’re enthusiasts.

Sure, the Civic has a cult following and is beloved by diverse drivers. But the 2025 Civic starts at $24,250. That amount doesn’t seem like it would hurt the finances of someone worth $1.25 billion.

According to NDTV, her assistant typically drives her Civic around town and she flies commercial. She dethroned Taylor Swift as the youngest self-made female billionaire.

However, Taylor Swift has a wild car collection with extravagant options like a Maybach S650, Mercedes-Benz Viano, and Ferrari 458 Italia. Guo’s slogan is “Act broke, stay rich”.

She feels as if she doesn’t need to flaunt her wealth for external validation. But in my humble opinion, no one will judge her for upgrading to a modern car that’s a bit more comfortable for herself and her assistant.

Think about it! Things like wireless Apple CarPlay, rear-cross traffic alert, and ventilated seats are excellent features. I feel like she can keep the old Civic and enjoy a new one.
