Please join us for a moment of silence for fallen SUVs. There are iconic models that you’re used to seeing every day that have been officially discontinued. Production of these once popular rides has already ended. 

Three SUVs discontinued for 2026

1. Kia Soul 

Sorry, the hamsters are no longer dancing. Instead, they are mourning the loss of their quirky little Kia Soul. It had a pretty good run as it first debuted in 2008. However, it failed to keep up with modern rivals. 

While options like the Subaru Crosstrek have standard AWD, the Soul doesn’t offer it at all. Plus, the automaker is more interested in getting the compact and modern Kia Seltos to take off. All we can do is mourn the loss of another budget-friendly SUV. 

2. Ford Escape 

The Ford Escape first debuted back in 2020. It had a long life as a boxy off-roader and efficient PHEV commuter. There isn’t any more room for this model in the lineup as Ford focuses on transitioning to electric vehicles. 

The Louisville Assembly Plant, where the Escape used to be made, is being remodeled to build new electric trucks and SUVs. Plus, offering fewer models should help the automaker reduce pricing. But will the Bronco Sport be able fill its shoes? 

3. Jeep Wagoneer 

After only reviving the Jeep Wagoneer in 2021, this three-row family hauler is biting the dust. It just isn’t keeping up with rivals or selling very well. Some will say Jeep SUVs got too luxurious and expensive for drivers. 

According to Cars Direct, Stellantis claims it needs to simplify its luxury SUV lineup. Reportedly, having the Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer is too confusing. Plus, the SUVs have too many overlapping features.
