Don’t trust Stellantis with your beans, unless you want them to be spilled. The Jeep website accidentally posted specs about the 2026 Jeep Cherokee Hybrid ahead of its debut!
Here’s what we aren’t supposed to know yet. The Cherokee Hybrid is expected to have a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that gets about 38 mpg combined. Its power figures weren’t released.
But this estimated fuel economy is on par with rivals. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid gets about 39 mpg combined, and the Honda CR-V Hybrid rings in at 37 mpg combined.
When the 2023 Cherokee was discontinued, it got an EPA-estimated 21 mpg in the city and up to 29 mpg on the highway. So, it got a massive improvement.
Information about the plug-in hybrid powertrain and electric variant hasn’t been released. But the Cherokee 4xe will be even more efficient.
Also, the new Cherokee is expected to have standard all-wheel drive, which is an excellent perk. The Cherokee will be able to tow about 3,500 lbs, putting it on par with the RAV4 again.
Rumors suggest that the Cherokee will start at around $30,000. The 2025 Jeep Compass has an MSRP of $26,900. It should only cost a few thousand bucks to upgrade to the larger Cherokee.
The 2026 Cherokee is expected to debut by the end of the year and enter production in 2026. We could learn more about it any day now!
