You don’t have to pay attention to the news to be aware that Stellantis and Jeep have been struggling. But they’re committed to turning things around. The 2026 Jeep Cherokee Hybrid proves to be a crucial step in the right direction. 

What engine does the 2026 Jeep Cherokee Hybrid have? 

The 2026 Jeep Cherokee comes with a new 1.6-liter turbo four hybrid powertrain. An internal-combustion engine is paired with two electric motors and a battery. The setup generates 210 hp and 230 lb-ft of torque. 

According to Stellantis, the Cherokee Hybrid gets about 37 mpg combined. It can travel about 500 miles on a single tank of gas. 

The powertrain underwent millions of miles of development and testing. It has been dialed in to deliver all the performance necessary for daily adventures and worry-free range. Also, the engine is being built at the Stellant Dundee Engine Plant in Michigan. 

Jeep didn’t release its towing specs, but the new Cherokee is well-equipped for off-roading. It has 8.0 inches of ground clearance, the standard Jeep Active I Drive 4×4 system with standard disconnect, and the best-in-class approach and departure angles. 

Other standard features include a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a passive entry system, rain-sensing wipers, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian/cyclist identification, intersection collision assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic detection, the active driving assist system, and rear park assist. 

Pricing starts at $36,995, including the $1,995 destination charge. The 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid starts at $33,995, including the destination fee. However, the remodeled 2026 RAV4 Hybrid is expected to have a price increase.
