2 Subaru SUVs are outselling the Jeep Wrangler
Some people may think that the Jeep Wrangler is more popular than any Subaru model. In movies, the coolest youths often drive Wranglers around. But a recent sales report shows that two Subaru SUVs are outselling the Wrangler.
Two Subaru SUVs are outselling the Jeep Wrangler
Are you ready to be shocked by the numbers? Car and Driver compiled a list of the best-selling trucks and SUVs of 2025, so far.
Only the top 25 most popular options made the list. The Jeep Wrangler landed in 22nd place with 85,613 sales through the second quarter. That’s a good start to the year; things could be worse. At least it made the list.
It’s in front of the Nissan Sentra, Ford Escape, and Tesla Model 3. However, rivals like the Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V, and Ford Explorer are leaving it in the dust.
Plus, it’s being outsold by two Subaru SUVs. In 19th place, you’ll find the Subaru Crosstrek with 90,334 sales. Then the Subaru Forester sits in 18th place with 95,972 models sold thus far.
But after months of facing declining sales and problems, the Wrangler does have good news to celebrate. It has a 23% sales increase compared to the second quarter of 2024. The Subaru models have sales increases of 14% and 3%.
Perhaps prices and amenities have caused these results. The Wrangler costs about $3,000 more than the Forester. Plus, the Forester has a smoother and quieter ride.
But none of these SUVs come close to the Ford F-150, aka the sales king. It has sold 399,819 models so far.
