Another day, another recall. This time, it’s a Stellantis recall for the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The recall names over 170,000 Wagoneers for detaching door trim pieces that could present a road hazard should they pop off under normal operation.

A recall includes over 172,000 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVS for trim pieces that could fall off and cause road hazards

Stellantis and Jeep are recalling the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs for detaching trim pieces that could break off while driving. The recall includes units from the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 model years. It includes over 172,000 units in the US market, along with around 8,500 units in Canada.

According to the recall notice, the trim pieces on the driver and passenger doors could be faulty and prone to falling off. The detaching pieces, while less than harmful to drivers and passengers, could present a road hazard to other motorists.

The original investigation started back in July after reports of warranty claims for the detaching trim pieces. As of last month, there were 405 warranty claims related to the detaching trim pieces, but no reports of crashes or injuries.

Oddly enough, the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer recall isn’t the only major recall for door trim pieces in the last week. Ford recently recalled 101,944 Taurus sedans across four model years (2016 to 2019).

In the case of the Taurus, the NHTSA says, in some cases, a B-pillar part that detaches “while driving can create a road hazard for other road users, increasing the risk of a crash.” If you suspect your vehicle is included in a recall, the NHTSA VIN lookup tool can verify recall status.
