New York woman stabs two police officers at gas station over stolen truck

31-year-old Julia C Groff of Bolivar, New York is currently behind bars. Attempted murder charges are only the beginning of her rap sheet.

Two police officers responded to reports of a stolen truck at the Crosby’s Gas Station around 3:30 PM. They spotted the hijacked 2000 Chevrolet Silverado at a gas pump.

They approached Groff and she became aggressive and combative. She violently resisted arrest and stabbed State Trooper Jack Klock above the eye. Also, Groff stabbed Trooper, Michal Rich in the head. It’s unclear what type of weapon Groff used to stab them.

Rich fired his gun at Groff but didn’t hit her. She was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The police officers are currently being treated at the hospital for serious injuries. I don’t have an update on their current status.

According to CNYC Central, Groff was charged with two counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault upon a police officer, menacing a police officer, grand larceny, obstructing a governmental administration, resisting arrest, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Groff was arraigned and taken to the Allegheny County Jail without bail. She has a hearing scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, in the Town of Bolivar Court. Klock is a nine-year veteran, and Rich is an 11-year veteran with the force.
