Drivers, start your wieners! The Wienie 500 is finally happening so we can watch the entire fleet of Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles race to victory. All six trucks or SUVs will be meating up for the first time in over a decade.

The Wienie 500 involves racing Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles

Honestly, what’s more America than burning rubber and giant hotdogs? The Wienie 500 is about to go down as a historic racing event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Get ready to watch the entire fleet of wiener-shaped vehicles hit the track on May 23rd, at 2 PM. You can watch the vehicles haul their buns on the Fox Sports App.

The hotdogs will be racing to victory in front of a sold-out crowd of 350,000 fans. Roughly 30,000 hotdogs are expected to be consumed on race day.

According to Fox Sports, each Wienermobile will have a unique look to represent regional hot dog styles. The Chi Dog represents the Midwest while the New York Dog represents the North East.

I’ll be rooting for the Southeast Slaw Dog, but there’s also the Chili Dog from the South, the Seattle Dog for the North West, and the Sonoran Dog for the South West. The winner will be sprayed with condiments and receive a Wiener’s Wreath in Victory Lane.

Each Oscar Mayer Wienermobile weighs 14,050 lbs. They’re 27 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 11 feet tall. They have a 6.0-liter V8 gas engine and a top speed of 110 mph. It’s unclear if they will be modified for racing.

Also, they’re technically trucks. I’m cutting the mustard early at work to relish this event with no buns intended.
