Toyota salesman in Indiana lists every 2025 model on his lot and where they’re built as tariffs launch
The sales team at Rohrman Toyota in Lafayette, Indiana, often shares humorous bits on its social media page. This week, though, things went serious for a moment as the dealership acknowledged the April 2 launch of the Trump administration’s 25% tariffs. The automotive industry has braced for these since the start of the year. In response, one salesman gives us a walk-through of his lot, showing the assembly origins of 2025 models.
Of course, time will tell if Toyota dealerships increase the prices on ALL models, regardless of origin, to offset inventory overhead and the possibility of lowered sales on imported vehicles.

It’s the RAV4, the bestselling SUV in the country. Be sure to confirm its assembly location. This information is typically stamped on the VIN tag inside the left front door frame. If it’s built here, still the same price as imported RAV4s, and the dealer says it’s due to tariffs…something’s off. If it were me, I’d negotiate…or consider buying a slightly used model and skip the tariff conversation altogether.
