Today I’m wondering if Trump can legally drive. He bought a Tesla at the White House but didn’t drive it. However, when Biden had a Jeep Wrangler 4xe, he drove it around the White House lawn. So, does Trump have a driver’s license?

Can Trump drive the Tesla he bought?

Donald Trump tried to help his buddy Elon Musk out by buying a Tesla at the White House. He settled on the Tesla Model S Plaid and paid full price for the EV.

Then he sat in it and posed with it. However, he didn’t actually drive it. Meanwhile, former President Biden got to drive his Corvette and a Jeep Wrangler 4xe around during his time in office.

So, can Donald Trump legally drive? Trump said that he is not allowed to drive his new electric car because of Secret Service security protocols. Presidents are only permitted to drive on private property to ensure their safety.

The Former Presidents Act was passed in 1958 to provide lifetime security protection, including driving restrictions for ex-presidents. They’re only supposed to be chauffeured in protected vehicles like The Beast.

According to News Week, Trump needed to renew his license on June 14, 2020, on his 74th birthday. It’s unclear if he actually did. Also, he was last seen driving in 2014, before entering politics while listening to ‘Blank Space’ by Taylor Swift.

While living in Manhattan, there was hardly a need to drive. But now he has drivers and said that his Tesla Model S is for his staff to use. Also, he might be a closet SWIFTY.
