While police officers in Indiana had their hands full, a trucker got a mouthful. Allegedly, the drunk truck driver bit a police officer during an altercation. Officers were on the scene to stop a home break-in attempt, and the suspect didn’t go quietly.

Drunk Indiana trucker bites a police officer

Police officers quickly responded to reports of a break-in attempt at North Layman Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana. When officers arrived, they saw a Mack semi-truck parked in the middle of the yard.

A mailbox was wedged under the rear tires of the cab. One officer knocked on the cab door and instructed the trucker to exit his rig. As the suspect, identified as Gurseak Signh, exited the vehicle, they could immediately smell alcohol and placed him in handcuffs.

According to CLD Life, a witness reported that they heard the crash and saw Singh sprint to the front door of the home. He was banging on the door, then he hit it with a chair. His motive is unclear.

Signh admitted to being drunk and couldn’t walk or perform sobriety tests. During transport to a local hospital for a blood test, he screamed loudly. He spat on the officers and kicked at them.

They pulled over and called for a safer police vehicle for transport, and removed Singh from the car. He then refused to stay on the ground and fought officers, biting one of them. He also assaulted a nurse at the hospital while having his blood drawn.

Singh faces charges for three counts of battery against a public safety official, battery by bodily waste, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief, and operating a vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
