‘A Present For You’ Truck Thief Farts On Police Officers After Chase, Arrest
If you think all Canadians are overly polite, you’ve obviously never met Jeremy Robert Weldon.
A New Brunswick university student was moving into his apartment and reportedly left his keys inside his truck. He probably thought no one would be rude enough to steal the vehicle. He didn’t count on 38-year-old Weldon walking by.
When the student returned to his truck, it was gone. He called the police and later officers spotted the vehicle. Weldon was driving and had one passenger along for the fun of it. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police approached the vehicle.
The polite thing to do would have been apologizing and returning the vehicle. Instead, Weldon threw the truck in reverse, sped past the police, and fled into a field. In the process, he got the truck stuck. Weldon decided to jump out and hoof it.
Eventually, a Mountie caught up with Weldon and pulled a Taser. The fugitive decided he’d had it and surrendered. But as the Mounties were escorting Weldon into the station, he had one more surprise.
The man reported backing into one officer’s “hip and groin” area before letting a fart rip. He said, “There’s a present for you.”
My mama always told me that when you share, you need to bring enough for everyone. Apparently, that is the only piece of etiquette Weldon knows. He immediately backed into the other arresting officer, farted again, and announced, “And another for you.”
When a judge asked Weldon to explain himself, he said he apologized: he admitted he was drunk and called his behavior childish. He’s facing a six-month conditional sentence, house arrest, curfew time, 75 hours of community service, a one-year driving ban, and $1,200 Canadian in fines.
