As protests increase around the nation, incidents involving men in pickup trucks are on the rise. This time, people in New York were protesting ICE when a man threw a severed deer head out the window. He remains at large after speeding off. 

Truck driver throws severed deer head at ICE protestors in New York 

I’ve been seeing reports of truck drivers disrupting peaceful protests all over the place. From coal rolling participants to driving into crowds, things are getting out of hand. 

However, one pickup owner in New York took things to a brand new level. People were protesting ICE and President Trump’s immigration crackdown in Lafayette along Route 11 and 20. 

A man in a large red pickup drove past the group, then turned around. He was heading towards the group on the wrong side of the road when he tossed a severed deer head out of the window. Local police officers shared that the head didn’t strike anyone. It landed on the pavement, blocking traffic. 

According to Syracuse, protestors got the vehicle’s license plate and DOT numbers. They got photos, and police officers identified the man as a local business owner. But no arrests have been made. 

One witness shared that the incident is “just kind of sick and unnerving.” Another said that the group was just standing there, having coffee, when the large truck came across the intersection heading against traffic. 

Demonstrators shared that the protest is focused on federal policy. It’s not against hunters or local residents. While the group has also faced lewd comments, obscene gestures, and getting covered in exhaust, this incident has been the most shocking so far.
