Thieves slam SUV into California store and steal $1 million worth of jewelry
A man was having a pleasant shift of work at a jewelry store called Classic Jewelers in Anaheim, California, before eight men ruined his day. Multiple criminals participated in a heist that allowed them to get away with $1 million worth of jewelry in broad daylight.
Cameras caught things unfolding as an SUV drove through the front of the store. Then four men wearing masks exited the vehicle. They rummaged through broken glass and debris to grab everything they could.
A witness shares, “eight to 10 men with masks, trash cans, crow bars, and hammers, smashed everything in the showcase. My gun was on the table, they grabbed my gun, and at that point, I thought I was going to get shot.”
According to Fox News, the men then fled in two cars. They ditched the SUV for two Dodge Charger models. However, the group of thieves didn’t get very far. Police officers shared that both vehicles crashed in traffic during pursuits.
Then the suspects tried to flee on foot. However, many of them sustained injuries. Investigators recovered multiple trays of stolen jewelry and the owner’s gun from the cars.
Most suspects, including one minor, have been taken into custody. Police officers are searching for the other men involved.
