Texas trucker locks himself in truck stop bathroom to evade arrest
A trucker in Texas led police on a high speed chase in his semi-truck, around southwest Houston. The driver learned that someone was coming to repossess his truck, so he panicked.
Quinton White owns the truck and recently hired the CDL Driver. He came to repossess the truck after the driver refused to follow orders and instructions. As White approached the driver, he refused to hand over the keys and attacked.
The driver claimed to be homeless and repeatedly said that he wasn’t going to give White the keys because it was his truck. That’s when White called the police and the driver took off, reaching 75 mpg on Beltway 8.
After weaving around traffic, the driver ended up at a gas station on Gessner and Creekbend Drive. According to KHOU, the driver jumped out of the heavy-duty truck and locked himself in the bathroom.
I don’t think he was planning unless he thought the bathroom had a window to jump out of. Maybe he thought the police would just give up their search. Unfortunately, for the driver, the cops didn’t give up. They broke into the bathroom and arrested him.
Officers used a battering ram and a K-9 to apprehend the man. They learned that he was facing three unrelated felony charges before his crime spree was added to the list. White will get his truck back when the police complete their investigation.
