Imagine driving your SUV when it suddenly flips over. One driver in Los Angeles found themselves upside down in traffic after being hit by a stolen truck. At least this gave police officers time to strike.

SUV flipped by stolen truck in Los Angeles

Police officers in Los Angeles spotted a stolen truck downtown around 7:30 a.m. on Wall Street, near East 5th Street, and decided to take action.

After they failed to perform a traffic stop, a police chase ensued. The Los Angeles Police Department shared that the chase didn’t last long. It was terminated due to the driver’s reckless nature.

According to KTLA, he didn’t get very far, though. The stolen truck later crashed into a black SUV on East Washington Boulevard and Trinity Street in the historic South-Central neighborhood.

The force of the collision caused the SUV to flip on its roof. It landed in an empty parking lot on the side of the road. Then the driver was able to climb out through a window.

Police officers shared that the man was treated for minor injuries in an ambulance at the scene. He wasn’t seriously injured. But the driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital. The suspect was also taken into custody.

After treatment, the suspect will be booked into the City Jail. The reports didn’t specify who the pickup belonged to or where it was stolen. Also, potential charges for the suspect weren’t shared.

However, we can guess that he will face charges related to evading arrest, stealing a vehicle, reckless driving, and criminal mischief.
