Brunch spots usually serve mimosas, not flying glass. But Saturday afternoon in Houston, an ordinary food review turned into a life-threatening scene when an SUV barreled straight through a restaurant window. Two local influencers, mid-bite and mid-recording, suddenly found themselves in a viral video no one would ever want to star in.

The crash happened at CuVee’s Culinary Creations on Eldridge Parkway. Influencers NinaUnrated and Patrick Blackwood had settled into a booth with cameras rolling, reviewing salmon sliders.

Moments later, an SUV smashed through the front window, nearly crushing their table

The pair recalled hearing a loud boom and then feeling glass and debris explode around them.

Both were rushed to the hospital with injuries. Blackwood explained that he needed staples for wounds on his back and thigh, along with cuts to his chest, arms, and face. He said the pain has made it hard to sleep.

NinaUnrated reported heart palpitations, shock, and an inability to rest for more than 45 minutes at a time. She added that the trauma forced her to cancel planned collaborations for the coming weeks.

Restaurant owner Ivory Watkins said he had been standing right next to the couple before stepping away to greet other guests

He recalled hearing what sounded like broken dishes before realizing his restaurant had been breached by a car.

Watkins stressed that his priority wasn’t the broken window but making sure the couple survived. His wife even visited the hospital to check on them, Fox 26 Houston shared.

Police told Watkins the crash was a freak accident caused by driver error. No customers or staff were killed, but the SUV stopped only feet away from occupied tables.

Remarkably, the influencers returned to CuVee’s the very next day. They said they wanted to thank Watkins and his staff for their care during and after the ordeal. For now, the restaurant is left to patch a shattered wall, while the couple works to patch their shaken nerves.
