Colorado police stop truck for speeding then find drugs, gold, and diamonds
Why do criminals accidentally bring attention to themselves? Missouri police officers stopped a truck for speeding andthen found drugs, cash, diamonds, and gold. If the driver wasn’t speeding, then he would have gotten away with cocaine, ketamine, and more.
Missouri police stop a truck for speeding and then find drugs and contraband
At the end of the day, it’s great that Missouri police officers were able to get tons of cocaine and ketamine off the streets. However, the alleged suspect, 32-year-old Kyle Fogerty would have gotten away if he didn’t make one dumb mistake.
He was speeding in a 2001 Toyota truck, which got the attention of cops. They immediately tried to stop him, which led to a brief chase. Fogerty finally pulled over at a rest stop on Interstate 29, south of Dearborn.
Officers searched Fogerty and found over 124 grams of Ketamine, 1.5 grams of cocaine, $126,735 in cash, a 2.21-carat diamond, and two one-ounce gold bars.
Fogarty was charged with delivering a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid and possession of a controlled substance. His bond is set at $150,000 cash only.
According to KSHB, Platte County Sheriff Erik Holland is proud of his team for making this bust. He shared that this is a great example of the work the Patrol Division is doing to remove drugs from the streets.
Holland explained that cases like this show why traffic enforcement is an important part of safety for the community. To me, it’s another reminder of why you shouldn’t speed.
Even if you aren’t carrying drugs or doing something illegal, speeding is dangerous and time-consuming if you get caught.
