Nashville thieves steal guns with GPS tracker from car, lead police to stash of drugs, stolen credit cards, and ammo
Nashville burglars stole more than they bargained for when they broke into a vehicle on 6th Avenue North. They nabbed a pair of guns and other belongings, but also ended up accidentally stealing a GPS tracker.
This theft occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning. When the vehicle owners reached out to the MNPD they were able to give detectives an address as well. So Sunday night, the MNPD raided Fallbrook Apartments on Dellway Villa Road.
The police found the guns in question, and arrested the two men inside. But that’s not all they found. The apartment contained cash, cocaine laced with fentanyl, marijuana, ten guns total, ammunition, and spare magazines.
The MNPD charged Atonio Dennis (20) with multiple counts of gun theft and auto burglary and Anthony Harris (41) with felony gun and drug charges. The MNPD urges Nashville residents to always report stolen guns, complete with serial numbers.
“Anyone who had a gun taken this weekend during an auto burglary is urged to contact 615-862-8600 and request that a Violent Crimes detective call them back.”
A recent study found that from 2018 to 2022, the number of guns stolen from parking lots and garages shot up 76%. Nine percent of all vehicle break-ins result in a gun theft.
