Thieves steal donation Christmas toys from the Hood Santa truck
Tito Rodriguez is known as the Hood Santa. He even dresses up as Santa and spends time collecting toys for underprivileged kids in Los Angeles, California every year.
He’s filled a U-Haul truck, which is known as the Hood Santa truck with hundreds of gifts for the past 13 years. But this year donations might be a little light.
Through his Local Hearts Foundation and SOS Music, people can see concerts at a venue downtown in exchange for toys. Tickets only cost one donation. But on Sunday morning, half of the toys were stolen by a few Grinches.
The person watching the truck went on a quick coffee break. Then thieves tried to pop the ignition on the truck after popping the lock. After failing to steal the U-Hual, they put half the toys in the back of a pickup truck and drove off.

According to Fox LA, without Hood Santa, many children wouldn’t get anything for Christmas. Rodriguez shared that it’shorrible because they’re trying to do something good for the children. It’s heartbreaking because they are trying to bring toys to under-resourced families.
Plus, it’s unclear if local police departments have any leads related to the incident. The toys might not be recovered in time for Christmas.
Rodriguez or Hood Santa gives turkeys at Thanksgiving, gift baskets for Easter, and helps kids with cancer. Now you can help him. He’s asking for the community to come together and help get more toys for the kids. You can donate to the Local Heart Foundation here.
