Look, the Facebook Marketplace is essentially the wild west. Buying trucks through that platform is a risk. But in this case, the seller of a Chevy Silverado was honest and straightforward. But the buyer still got angry and slammed the truck through his garage door.

Texas man drives Facebook Marketplace truck through seller’s garage door

Honestly, there are better places to buy used trucks than the Facebook Marketplace. It’s riddled with scams and dishonest sellers.

But in Texas, one seller sold his truck in an honest and clear manner. He met the suspect, identified as Victor Rodriguez, at a gas station on the 3000 block of US 281 in Bulverde to sell the pickup.

He presented it ‘as is’ and provided screen shots to acknowledge mechanical electric problems and an oil leak. Rodrigues took it for a test drive and agreed to pay $4,100 for Chevrolet Silverado. He willingly signed a bill of sale.

According to Fox San Antonio, Rodriguez started harassing the victim hours later. Police officers report that he demanded the return of the vehicle due to the oil leak.

Rodriguez went to the victim’s home despite not receiving an invitation. After 20 minutes, he aggressively accelerated into the victim’s garage door with the white Chevy truck. The incident caused significant structural damage.

After fleeing the scene, Rodriguez remains at large. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office asks for public assistance in locating him. Rodriguez is described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 200 lbs.

Anyone with related information is encouraged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000. Like with any sale through something like Craig’s List, it’s best to meet away from your home in a public place, for safety.
