Silverado driver revs engine at 5 AM daily, neighbor invents perfect revenge
Have you ever had a neighbor who loved their V8 just a little too much? You know, the kind of person who couldn’t help but mash the accelerator every morning the moment they slid behind the wheel? Even if they left for work at 5 AM? One Redditor invented the perfect revenge—and put a stop to his neighbor setting an eight-barrel alarm for the entire street.
Our hero set the scene: “My neighbor who is a half friend, half a–hole, owns a huge lifted Silverado that is straight piped with huge tips on the end.” You can tell this Chevy driver had gone too far when his own buddy didn’t want to claim him as a friend. What did he do? “Every morning this week he starts the truck and revs it as high as possible echoing down the street.”
I’m curious what inspired the daily tailpipe symphonies. Had this neighbor just bought his Silverado? Or had he just swapped to the early shift? Or was he just feeling especially musical? Whatever the reason, the neighborhood knew it needed to end.
Putting an end to the early morning Silverado symphony
After a week of being roused at 5 AM, this Redditor decided to fight fire with fire. “I wake up at 2 AM and go out to the garage. Grab some tools and pull the mufflers off my Mustang. Now I could pull out and rev back to piss him off, but I decided to go the extra mile.” That meant enlisting help.
“Me and my girlfriend push the car out, and back up to his bedroom window.” That’s a lot of commitment from the girlfriend too. But I suppose she’d been woken up every morning as well.
Then the show begins. “I make sure the car’s not in gear, crank it, and floor the piss out of it.”
So did the neighbor get the point? “5 AM, he starts the truck and quietly pulls away while staring at my car in the drive.” Mission accomplished! I wonder what the other neighbors thought of the escalating V8 wars? You can see the original Reddit post embedded below:
Insist on reving your loud truck at 5AM? Ok two can play that game.
