Drivers in Chicago were shocked as road rage escalated. Two drivers rushed around traffic as a pickup truck chased after a stolen car. Tensions escalated as the driver of the sedan threw an axe at the truck, causing an accident. 

Chicago driver throws an axe at truck driver

It felt like a normal day in traffic for Chicago drivers until a white sedan was aggressively being tailgated by a man in a pickup truck. 

According to CBS News, the man was chasing after an aggressively driven car. The incident brought traffic to a stop as people feared for their safety. 

The truck driver exited his vehicle while screaming at the man driving the sedan. He pretended that he had a gun as witnesses contacted the police. The sedan then reversed into the Chevrolet Silverado, and the driver tried to pry the door open. 

Next, the truck driver tried to pry open the door with a metal object, and the guy in the white vehicle threw an axe at him! Then he slammed into the truck. The airbags in the car deployed. 

Then he exited the now disabled car and got into a fistfight with the Chevy Silverado driver. The man from the sedan got into the truck, and the men continued fighting. But the owner of the truck failed to pull him out of the cab. 

Unfortunately, for the truck owner, the suspect drove away with it. Police officers responded to reports of criminal damage to a vehicle and aggravated battery near Meade and Archer. 

But it’s unclear if any arrests have been made or where the owner of the truck went after it was taken. Hopefully, there is an ongoing investigation into the matter.
