Red Bull has revealed its first hypercar, the 1,200-horsepower V10 hybrid RB17, in its final production form, and it… looks… nuts. One thing about it is certain. Despite engineer Adrian Newey recently leaving Red Bull for Aston Martin, he is still making a lasting impression on the organization.

The concept for the RB17 hypercar was first unveiled in 2024 and first revealed in person at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Now, with a few more tweaks and redesigns by Newey himself, we get to see the final version.

“Adrian’s allowed [to consult on the project], and he’s still interested in what’s going on,” Rob Gray, technical director of Red Bull Advanced Technologies, told Top Gear. “But to an extent, we got what we needed from him; we know what he wanted the car to look like, and he’s always on the end of the phone if we need him.”

Additionally, Gray said one of the last changes Newey made to the Red Bull hypercar was moving the exhaust onto the spine of the engine cover. Top Gear says that this design change will cause the “exhaust to emit an unholy howl.” They didn’t lie.

The RB17 hypercar will soon be available for sale; however, you probably can’t afford it

The RB17 hypercar boasts a bespoke 4.5-litre Cosworth V10 engine that reaches an astounding 15,000 rpm and develops 986 horsepower. The electric motor adds another 197 horsepower, significantly boosting performance.

Gray told Top Gear that the RB17 will not have any haptic controls or touchscreens. Consequently, everything will work via tactile, physical controls that are simple to operate, much like in Formula 1 cars.

Red Bull plans to manufacture only 50 examples of the RB17. Once Red Bull completes final testing, probably next spring, they will put it on the market for a yet-to-be-determined price. (Hint: it will certainly be seven figures.)
