Hold on a minute, I know Stellantis has been making pretty big changes to its trucks and SUVs. However, one strategic decision just threw me for a ride. Reportedly, we can expect a large Ram SUV to emerge, despite having options like the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

Stellantis is building a full-size RAM SUV

If you’re a fan of Ram trucks, then the new mid-size ride to expect by 2028 isn’t the only upcoming option to get your motor running.

As part of the massive $13 million Stellantis investment plan for America, a new full-size SUV could be in the works. It’s a little too early to tell what exactly might happen.

However, Stellantis CEO, Antonio Filosa, may have shared internal documents that hinted at a full-size SUV from the Ram brand.

According to Mopar Insiders, Ram fans could see an internal combustion engine (IC) large SUV and a range-extended EV (REEV) by 2028.

But this makes me wonder about the future of the Dodge Durango. It’s a staple for Stellantis, but it sure is outdated. I’ve been waiting to see what might replace it. Also, Ram is known for trucks while other brands build SUVs and sedans. So, apparently, the lines are about to get blurred.

Also, I’m aware some folks are going to be absolutely pumped for the return of the Ram Ramcharger SUV. It will probably have a body-on-frame build that’s based on the Ram 1500.

This will help the brand fight the Toyota Sequoia, Ford Expedition, and Chevrolet Tahoe. But will Dodge get sportier SUV options instead, while Ram tackles the rugged class?
