Tina Minasyan (@tinaminasyan) has a bone to pick with her mom’s new Porsche. According to her, it’s the “most selfish-person car” she’s ever sat in.

In a TikTok video with over 1.4 million views, Minasyan catalogs the sports car’s passenger-hostile features. She goes from a back seat no average adult could reasonably occupy, to a single cup holder in the middle, and what she describes as peasant-grade passenger seating.

“My mom got a new Porsche, and this is the most selfish-person car I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Minasyan says as she shows off the car.

“First of all, nobody can sit in the back seat. Nobody,” she continues. “Second of all, you have a drink? That’s too [expletive] bad, because there’s only one cup holder. Also, as a passenger, you’re sitting like a peasant.”

So, What’s Up With the Car?

The car Minasyan is sitting in appears to be a Porsche 911 Carrera S (992-generation with PDK).

The 992’s interior wraps around the driver, with every control, gauge, and surface angled toward the driver’s seat. The steering wheel, pedal placement, and seat position create what Porsche calls the “ultimate driving position,” with the driver placed in a comfortable 9-and-3 setup.

With this in mind, passengers sit lower and won’t be as comfortable as the driver, who has everything positioned to make them feel like royalty.

The lack of a backseat is tricky. The brand says that the new 911 (type 992.2) is “now a two-seater as standard,” but “customers can order the 2+2 seat layout at no extra cost.” So, Minasyan’s mom either asked for this setup or found this car pre-owned.

This car appears to have the traditional “2+2 seating setup,” which can fit small children or a baby seat, or even a very, very small adult. Despite the serious lack of space, the 2+2 has been “a key selling point for the 911, especially in its home market.”

As for the cup holder, some on Porsche 992 forums have complained about its functionality. There actually is a cup holder on the passenger-side door, but many say drivers should not be drinking anything in the car anyway. This reflects Porsche’s core ethos: this is a machine for driving, not commuting.

Porsche As a Status Car

Forum members debate that “people who look at Porsches as a status symbol” don’t “really care about driving,” with one owner stating the “992 is boring to drive day to day” while “the 718 is exciting and fun” and noting the 992 “need[s] to get into some serious speeds before it comes alive.”

But Renn Driver describes the 992’s interior as “a masterclass in modern luxury,” stating, “the Porsche 911 (992) is a car you’ll look forward to driving every single day, no compromises required.”

At the end of the day, it’s not specifically about being selfish. Many say that having a Porsche is about a look and feel — a class identifier. Either you are someone, or you’re trying to be someone.

“I feel like this is such a passive-aggressive car, like ‘don’t ask me to drive you anywhere else again’ is the vibe,” said one commenter. Minasyan replied, “lmfao im cracking up.”

Another person joked, “She said the car is for me, not for thee.” Minasyan replied, “said [expletive] them kids.” Adding to this point, one Porsche owner wrote, “I tell my kids – my Porsche is for me and my bag only. No room for anything or anyone else.”
