Shots fired! Boston Police officers fired a shot at a suspected garbage truck thief after a crime spree that started with shoplifting, crashing an SUV, and armed carjacking attempts. Hazmat crews had to clean up the mess.

Police officers from multiple cities in Massachusetts worked together to stop a dangerous crime spree between Everett and Boston. 

33-year-old Admilson Vizcaino was finally taken into custody after evading officers for hours. They first responded to reports of a man acting erratically at a Sunoco gas station in Medford around 12:45 PM. 

Vizcaino left in a black Chevrolet SUV before officers arrived. They tried to perform a traffic stop in Stoneham but lost track of the suspect. 

Then around 2:00 PM, he was spotted at a 7-Eleven in Billerica. He was allegedly shoplifting. He took several snacks, bottles of water, an empty gas can, and a wooden stick and disappeared. 

A family member shared his location around 3:15 PM, and he left as officers arrived. He got away until crashing the SUV in Everett, on Broadway. 

According to NBC Boston, he tried gaining entry to cars in traffic. He was shot before pulling a driver out of A Republic Services garbage truck and took off. 

He crashed into fire hydrants and light poles before jumping out on the sidewalk on the Alford Street Bridge with a knife. Police officers used a stun gun on Vizcaino several times, until he finally stopped.  

Then he was taken to a local hospital. The Everett police officer who shot him is on administrative leave. 

Vizcaino was charged with four counts of attempted armed carjacking, two counts of armed carjacking, assault, and armed assault with attempt to rob. Plus, he faces several motor vehicle charges.
