Kentucky police recover 8 stolen Chevy Corvette models

Thieves in Kentucky managed to pull off a major heist. They stole eight Chevy Corvette models from the production plant in Bowling Green. But their success didn’t last long as officers successfully received each of the cars.

The suspects cut a hole through a fence at the factory and briefly made off with the cars. One Corvette was received at an apartment complex. It still had factory wrappings and stickers on it.

Then multiple other models were recovered at a Lowes, where the thieves were attempting to sell them. The most affordable 2024 Corvette starts at $69,995 and ranges to over $100k. So, the total value of the stolen cars could have been close to $1 million.

According to GM Authority, 21-year-old Deante Walker was arrested and taken into custody. Walker was charged with receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more, fleeing/evading police, and resisting arrest.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Department helped the Bowling Green Police Department with the continuing investigation. They’re working to identify the other members involved.

Some of the cars were damaged, especially on the underside. But the extent of the damage is unknown. They were returned to the factory.

They could be involved in larger theft rings related to Cadillac Escalade-V SUVs stolen from the General Motors lot in Warren, Michigan. Early production units of the Cadillac Escalade Q were taken from the same lot.
