Pennsylvania police officer strikes naked man with patrol car

Police officers in Pennsylvania quickly responded to reports of a naked man blocking traffic. He was at the intersection of Stanbridge and West Airy. The city of Norristown shares that he “was creating a dangerous situation” around 8 AM.

According to CBS News, he was vandalizing parked cars and hitting vehicles as they drove by. Then a police officer accelerated into the intersection and struck the man with aggressive force. You can watch the video here, but use caution. It’s graphic.

Witnesses saw the nude suspect fly through the air several feet before landing on the pavement. Officers then rushed to the man to provide medical attention and take him into custody.

Other officers were on the scene and had already dispatched emergency responders. Then the officer struck the man about 10 minutes later. The condition of the man is unknown, but hopefully, he received some clothing.

Norristown Police Chief Michael Trail calls the video alarming and concerning. He explains, “I never like to see individuals injured as a result of any police-public encounter.

Trail asks that anyone with information or additional video footage from the incident contact the Montgomery County Detectives Bureau at 610-278-3368.

The officer who struck the suspect is on administrative leave. A use-of-force investigation is being conducted.  Also, the names of the individuals involved haven’t been released.
