One man had a terrible morning in Massachusetts when he suddenly went airborne before landing on the pavement.
Things escalated around 11:40 AM as a driver of a sedan caused a disturbance inside a business on East Central Street in Franklin. The suspect hit several parked cars as he exited the parking lot.
A police officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the suspect as a 59-year-old resident known to the Franklin Police Department. But during the stop, he fled from the scene. A police chase ensued.
According to Mass Live, the pursuit was terminated due to excessive speeds and unsafe conditions. About 20 minutes later, the suspect drove into the breakdown lane on Route 140 to bypass traffic.
He ran a red light and slammed into a truck in the intersection. The pickup rolled on its side, ejecting the driver. Witnesses shared that other motorists provide aid while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.
The drivers of the sedan and pickup were taken to local hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Sadly, the man in the pickup was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Also, the sedan driver faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, marked lanes violation, red light violation, and disorderly conduct.
