High‑Speed Police Chase in Texas Ends With Corvette Flipping Into a Masonic Lodge
A high-speed police chase in Houston, Texas, on Thursday morning ended with a Chevy Corvette flipping and crashing. The supercar ended up on its top after smashing into the side of a Masonic lodge.
The incident occurred at 2:09 a.m., according to the Lt. Wilkens of the Houston Police Department. It began when patrol officers spotted a white Corvette running red lights and driving recklessly at high speeds.
When the officers attempted to pull over the Corvette, the driver sped up and attempted to flee. The driver didn’t make it very far. Five minutes later, police said the Corvette got a flat tire, flipped, and crashed into the building.
According to KHOU News, after cops pulled the male driver and a female passenger—both of whom were said to be in their 30s—from the overturned vehicle, they were transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Police reported the male driver has a single felony warrant for engaging in organized crime and aggregate felony theft. It is not believed that the car was stolen. The District Attorney’s Office will decide whether to file charges, as police are currently conducting an investigation.
