After leading police on a dangerous chase through the streets of Los Angeles, a female driver danced before surrendering on Wednesday night. That’s right. She danced.

It all began around 8:30 p.m. when officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a suspected DUI driver. According to ABC 7 News, when police caught up to the driver, she took off.

The chase remained mostly on surface streets throughout the pursuit, going through Koreatown and Hollywood. Luckily, there were no accidents, and no one was injured because, at various points in the chase, the driver ran red lights and performed U-turns in traffic.

The chase would have gone on longer, but the driver made a bad navigational choice

The pursuit finally ended in the crowded parking lot of a shopping center in the Westlake District when the driver was boxed in by other vehicles. Upon realizing she had nowhere to go, the female driver stepped out of her black sedan and began dancing.

“Oh, door open, driver has decided, ‘I think I’m going to do a little dance and have my moment of freedom before police officers approach,'” a Fox 11 News broadcaster said, narrating the scene.

This went on for several seconds while she waited for police officers to approach her. When they did, she quickly put her hands over her head and then lay down on the ground with her hands behind her back. An officer then placed her in handcuffs and arrested her.

“Yep, there you go,” another person on the broadcast said as the woman dropped to the ground. “She knows the drill. Hands behind her back, went right to the ground. So, obviously, a frequent flyer, they have!”

The police did not immediately release any additional information. According to the latest reports, we do not know if the suspect is linked to any other crimes.
