TikToker @hangwithhope can hardly believe the attention her husband’s new snow-shoveling technique got a year ago. The clip earned 1.4 million views and more than 13,000 comments in just three days. In it, the husband shows his ecstatic wife how efficiently clearing the driveway is using (drumroll)…a large piece of plywood. After just a few minutes, the driveway is completely free of snow, so getting the cars in and out is totally drama-free.

“I saw it on TikTok”

In the clip, the Michigan man takes a large piece of plywood and uses it like a giant squeegee. The panel easily wipes clean, snow-free paths several feet wide with each go. At the end of a run, he simply tips up the top edge of the plywood to dump the collected snow.

The wife explains that it took her four hours to shovel the driveway when she did it last

“You just did an hour of my work in one swipe,” she says.

After just 72 hours, the TikTok earned more than a million views and thousands of comments. After several requests, hangwithhope posted different versions of the clip. One adjusted the satisfying audio to provide extra appeal to ASMR fans. Another overlaid the “Real Men of Genius” from the infamous Bud Light commercials.

Just last month, she updated followers with her hubby’s Plywood Plow 2.0

In November, she shared the latest iteration of the DIY tool: The Plywood Plow 2.0. This is a bar handle version that works as smoothly as ever, complete with scrapey ASMR goodness:

Shoveling snow can be pretty dangerous

The American Journal of Emergency Medicine estimates that about 100 Americans die while shoveling snow each year. Around 11,000 folks get hurt during the activity and require emergency care. As such, you might just hire a young neighbor looking to earn some cash or a snow removal service.

If you’re a DIYer, though, while the plywood method does take a certain fitness level, it sure beats spending hours outside with a small shovel.

In any case, hangwithhope is happy for her husband and the attention he’s earned. “You all made the right person famous, this is the most selfless hard working man I’ve ever met, he deserves the love!”
