[WATCH] Florida Woman Survives as Plane Smashes Toyota Camry on Freeway
You know what’s pretty rare in traffic? To suddenly have an airplane land on top of your car. But one Florida woman is lucky to be alive after a plane struck the roof of her Toyota Camry on the freeway. Somehow, the little car held up under the weight.
Plane crashes into Toyota Camry on a Florida freeway
Toyota cars are known for being tough and durable. One Toyota Camry in Florida just lived up to this reputation on Interstate 95 in Brevard County when it was nearly crushed by an airplane.
Traffic was flowing pretty smoothly, but drivers didn’t know about an incoming threat from above. A fixed-wing Beechcraft 55 reported struggling with engine trouble around 5:45 PM.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shared that It needed to make an emergency landing. Then the plummeting plane struck the top of a 2023 Toyota Camry. It lost power in both engines.
It landed on top of the vehicle, causing the car to spin out of control and skid off the front onto the pavement. Police officers, firefighters, and emergency responders immediately rushed to the scene of the accident.
A 57-year-old woman was driving the Camry at the time and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. According to WESH, the 27-year-old pilot and passenger were both able to walk away without injuries.
The National Transportation Safety Board launched an investigation into the incident. It was learned that the plane was making an instructional flight and departed from Merritt Island before crashing.
