Many vehicles get recalled for simple problems such as digital gauge clusters going dead or hood emergency releases disintegrating. Engine recalls are a bit less common, and multiple recalls on the same engine are rare. But recent Nissan Rogues are currently facing two completely separate engine problems. Here are the model years affected:

  • 2023-2025 Nissan Rogue crossover

The first recall is for the electric throttle body that controls how much fuel flows into the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The gears that control the throttle body may break. If they do, the vehicle can suddenly lose all power.

In June 2025, Nissan recalled over 443,000 vehicles for engine bearings that may seize up. That issue could be just as dangerous as it sounds, causing the car to lock up or even the engine to overheat. The automaker just expanded this recall to include 2023-2025 Rogues.

Both recalls include a software update. Dealerships will also replace the electronic throttle body if necessary. The bearings will be a bit harder to diagnose, so dealerships will test drive the car, check for diagnostic trouble codes, and possibly inspect the oil pan for metal debris that spun off the bearings. If necessary, they’ll replace the entire engine.

Curious if your Nissan is subject to a recall? You can always call your dealership with your VIN ready to ask about recalls R25E2 and R25E3. You can also punch in your VIN at NHTSA or call its hotline at 888-327-4236.
