Karen has since mentioned owning and enjoying an Ioniq 5. There are several reasons why switching from the Tesla Model Y to an Ioniq 5 is a smart move, regardless of politics. Also, the Model Y is the closest competitor to the Ioniq 5 in the Tesla lineup. 

The Ioniq 5 starts at $42,600 while the Model Y starts at $44,990. Plus, the Ioniq 5 has a longer warranty and charging credits. Also, the Ioniq 5 has a faster charging time than the Model Y. 

Many critics, such as the Motor Trend team, agree that the Ioniq 5 is more comfortable, boasting a better interior with physical controls and a panoramic roof. But the Model Y does have a more established charging network and more range in some configurations. 

Overall, the Ioniq 5 is seen as the more well-rounded option with a more comfortable performance and athletic attitude.
