A Tennessee-based Chevrolet driver posted to TikTok to inform viewers about the bold brand name of his new tires. And to effectively ask what the heck this brand was.

Alan Terry (@alanterry137) recently posted a video about his tires, which amassed over 50,000 views as of Wednesday. “Have you guys ever seen a set of tires called Hangover Mudder Truckers?” he asks.

“That’s just the best damn tire brand name I’ve ever heard in my life,” he says, referring to the Mudder Trucker brand.

What sets Mudder Trucker apart beyond the name?

The video caught the attention of many commenters who were amused by the name. However, many viewers also pointed out the affordability of the brand, and questioned just how reliable the quality is. “Got the whole set for $250,” wrote one comment.

“I just got 60,000 miles out of those,” added another. “I was shocked to say the least.”

Beyond being humorously named, the Mudder Trucker Hang Over M/T Mud Tire is known for being a budget-oriented mud terrain tire that many find surprisingly appealing for the price. Unlike premium brands that can cost several hundred dollars per tire, Hang Over M/T tires are often listed in the $160–$220.

These tires are designed for off-road capability rather than refined highway manners. They feature deep, self-cleaning tread blocks and rugged sidewalls intended to bite into mud and rough terrain while shedding debris, traits shared with other aggressive mud terrain designs.  Reviewers on Walmart and specialty sites give generally positive feedback for traction and appearance, often with 4-5-star user ratings.

How does Mudder Trucker compare to other tire companies?

For comparison, more established mud terrain tires often carry a higher price tag but deliver proven durability, tread life, and on- and off-road balance backed by thousands of real-world reviews. Those mainstream competitors are typically engineered with advanced rubber compounds and structural reinforcement that improve wet traction, wear, and noise control, areas where budget Mudder Trucker designs might struggle.

Many buyers praise the value and traction in mud and dirt, but others report noticeable road noise, mixed longevity, and quality control variability, with some owners experiencing early issues like band separation after only a few hundred miles.

For someone who mostly off-roads or uses their truck for occasional work without the budget for a set of premium tires, they could be considered a fun and inexpensive option that gets the job done. However, those looking for everyday reliability, highway comfort, and long treadwear warranties may opt for higher-priced options from major brands.
