The numbers are in, and vehicle thieves clearly have certain references. The most stolen vehicles in America for 2025 include two trucks and one car. They’re targeted for theft due to aftermarket value and security vulnerabilities.

America’s most stolen vehicles in 2025 include two trucks and one car

There’s no drum roll for this one because auto theft is wrong. Anyways, the top three most stolen vehicles per capita in 2025 include the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Honda Civic.

You probably expected Kia and Hyundai models to be in the top three due to the Kia Boyz. However, according to Compare Market, these are the most stolen vehicles per capita, or 100,000 drivers. Also, the Hyundai Elantra is still quite popular among thieves.

The Ford F-150 is desired by thieves because it’s so popular as America’s best-selling vehicle. It provides a lot of after-market value. These trucks can be sold as whole vehicles or parted out.

Due to limited supplies of replacement parts and long wait times, high-demand features fetch a pretty penny. Thieves can make a lot of money off of tires, bumpers, LED headlights, and more.

The Chevrolet Silverado is targeted because of its vulnerabilities. The keyfobs and keyless entry systems can easily be hacked. Thieves clone their signals to quickly unlock the doors and start the engines.

These trucks haven’t benefited from updated security tech in years. A 2025 Silverado could be just as vulnerable as a 2015 model.

The Honda Civic is both popular and vulnerable. Thieves can easily sell replacement parts like the wheels and airbags. While they’re often stripped for parts, they hold value as whole vehicles for resale.

Plus, older Civic models lack modern safety tech. Criminals can easily break into these cars and start the engine to take off and never be seen again.
