Data is glorious. We all know in our gut that a Toyota vehicle is reliable. But the latest iSeeCars study of vehicles registered at 250,000 miles proves it. The average vehicle has an 8.6% to hitting that mileage mark. These Toyota vehicles are three or even four times as likely to still be going strong past 250k.

Toyota Tundra and Sequoia are the most reliable by a mile

The hands-down winner of ultra high-mileage reliability is the Toyota Tundra/Sequoia chassis. The Tundra is Toyota’s full-size pickup truck, while the Sequoia is the body-on-frame SUV that share’s the Tundra’s powertrain and chassis. The Tundra has a 36.6% chance of making it to 250k, while the Sequoia comes in at 36.4%. These reliable Toyota vehicles beat out every other make and model.

The 2025 Tundra and Sequoia are part of the chassis’ third generation. Toyota ditched their naturally-aspirated V8 for a more complex turbocharged V6. This upped fuel mileage and improved emissions. But it also led to a huge recall. The upside is that Toyota is throwing a brand new V6 in every one of its 2021-2024 Tundra trucks. A zero mile motor may mean they’ll be even more likely to last to 250k. Toyota also fixed the problem ahead of releasing its 2025 Tundra and Sequoia.

Toyota 4Runner and Tacoma beat out most vehicles

Toyota’s midsize truck/SUV chassis is its 4Runner/Tacoma. The legendary 4Runner has a 26.8% of making it to 250k miles while the Tacoma can claim 26.7%. Only a few heavy-duty trucks are more likely to hit ultra high mileage, and the 4Runner/Tacoma are still 3x as likely as the average vehicle to see 250k miles. These reliable Toyota vehicles have some serious street red.

Like the Tundra/Sequoia, the 4Runner/Tacoma is a sturdy, full-frame vehicle. Like the Tundra/Sequoia, the 2025 model features a smaller (I4), turbocharged engine to meet emissions. But this power plant has proven problem-free and isn’t subject to any recalls.

Toyota Highlander Hybrid is surprisingly reliable

Many motor heads assume that the added complexity of a hybrid vehicle means it’s less dependable. But they forget that Toyota’s been perfecting reliable hybrids for over a decade. The regular Toyota Highlander crossover SUV has a 15.7% chance of seeing 250,000 miles. But the Highlander Hybrid can claim a 25.9% chance of getting there.

Why is this? A hybrid powertrain reduces both engine and brake wear, so it requires less maintenance. The Highlander is a three-row crossover, so it’s especially impressive it rivals full-frame 4Runner longevity. But that’s more of a testament to reliable Toyota engineering. Like the 4Runner, the 2025 Highlander has tossed its naturally-aspirated engine for smaller, turbocharged powerplants.

Toyota Avalon is the most reliable sedan from the automaker

Many Toyota sedans made the iSeeCars list of the 30 models most likely to hit 250,000 miles. The Toyota Prius has a 12.6% chance of getting there. The Toyota Camry also proves reliable with a 13.5% chance of seeing 250k. But the winner might be the Toyota Avalon. That mid-size sedan wows with a 22% chance of hitting 250k.
