The most popular Jeep SUV isn’t the Wrangler
Every automaker has a flagship vehicle that defines the brand. For example, there’s the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Suburban. You would expect these vehicles to be the best-selling option. However, the Jeep Wrangler is getting outsold by one of its siblings.
The Wrangler isn’t the most popular Jeep SUV
The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most important vehicles under the entire Stellantis umbrella. It has a patriotic history and has been extremely popular for decades.
But it’s not the best-selling Jeep SUV right now, and that’s a bit surprising. According to the U.S.News, the 2025 Wrangler sold 47,669 SUVs in the second quarter of 2025.
Then the Jeep Grand Cherokee sold 51,203 models. It led the Wrangler by about 3,534 units. So, the Wrangler could catch it during the third and fourth quarters.
Meanwhile, the world’s best-selling SUV, the Toyota RAV4, sold 124,049 models during the second quarter. So, Jeep SUVs still have some work to do.
The 2025 Wrangler starts at $32,690, but that’s for a two-door spartan model. You can get started with a 2025 Grand Cherokee $36,495. Sure, there is a $3,805 difference between entry-level models.
But the Grand Cherokee provides more standard features for the family and provides a much more comfortable experience. Plus, you can pick incredibly capable off-roading trim levels for adventuring.
Both of these Jeep SUVs offer a plug-in hybrid (4xe) model as well. But the Grand Cherokee is a luxury model. I’m thinking the more affordable 2026 Jeep Cherokee Hybrid could dethrone it next year.
