Tim McCreadie took home $20K for his 40th World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision win at the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals in Florida on Saturday night. McCreadie had to fight off Ryan Gustin, who led the first 20 laps of the 50-lap contest at Volusia Speedway Park.

McCreadie did not get to victory lane in World of Outlaws competition until May 2025. In 2026, he did so in just three nights. On night three of the event, he got the W after starting in 10th at the “World’s Fastest Half Mile.”

“This place is different, and you’ve got to build a balance,” McCreadie said. “Last night, I couldn’t steer on the bottom even though I was there the whole time. We worked on that tonight, and the track kind of came to us. Felt like I was a sitting duck, but I moved back to the middle, and I didn’t hear nobody anymore, so it must have been good.”

Brandon Sheppard ended up finishing second to win the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals championship. Dennis Erb Jr., Gustin, and Drake Troutman rounded out the top five.

Six through 10th were Bobby Pierce, Ricky Thornton Jr., Brandon Overton, Nick Hoffman, and Hudson O’Neal. Chris Madden finished 11th, followed by Daulton Wilson, Tristan Chamberlain, Donald McIntosh, Mark Whitener, Tyler Erb, Jake Timm, Dustin Sorensen, Jordan Koehler, and Logan Zarin. Competing the 27-car field were Kyle Bronson, Cody Overton, Trey Mills, Josh Rice, Allen Styck, Eli Johnson, and Brent Larson.

Hudson O’Neal holds off Tyler Erb on Friday night

Hudson O’Neal continued his winning ways after a pair of wins at the Wild West Shootout in Arizona. O’Neal earned the $12,000 victory at the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals. After passing Bilstein Pole Award winner Brandon Overton on the start, he held off Chris Madden early and Tyler Erb late for his fourth win in Volusia.

“I about gave it away going down into [Turn] 1,” O’Neal said. “I got a little bit too high, got my left-rear in the rough, and it kind of jumped my right-front up. Whenever I seen [Erb] leaving [Turn] 2, I was like, ‘Oh no.’ I knew I got a better run than him, and I was just trying my best not to miss the bottom. I wasn’t sure where he was at.”

Erb, Tim McCreadie, Brandon Sheppard, and Nick Hoffman completed the top five. Max Blair, Kyle Strickler, Dale McDowell, Ryan Gustin, and Bobby Pierce followed them to the line. Drake Troutman, Cody Overton, Brandon Overton, Dennis Erb Jr., and Tristan Chamberlain finished 11th through 15th. Completing the rest of the 28-car field were Ethan Dotson, Josh Rice, Logan Zarin, Daulton Wilson, Jake Timm, Brent Larson, Trey Mills, Jordan Koehler, Blair Nothdurft, Dustin Sorensen, Ricky Thornton Jr., Chris Madden, and Eli Johnson.

Chris Madden wins Sunshine Nationals Opener

Chris Madden was the fastest during Wednesday’s practice night. He kept that feeling going during the opening night of the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals. Madden led all 35 circuits on his way to the 40th win of his career with the World of Outlaws.

“It’s awesome, you couldn’t ask for a better day today,” Madden said. “David and Eric [Wells] and his family, everybody at Infinity Chassis, what an awesome race car they sent me down here with. Couldn’t ask for anything any better.”

Nick Hoffman, Brandon Sheppard, Dennis Erb Jr., and Ricky Thornton Jr. rounded out the top five. Dustin Sorensen, Max Blair, Tyler Erb, Bobby Pierce, and Kyle Strickler filled out the top 10. Dale McDowell, Brandon Overton, Donald McIntosh, Tim McCreadie, and Brent Larson followed them. Clay Stuckey, Ryan Gustin, Cory Hedgecock, Drake Troutman, Blair Nothdurft, Daulton Wilson, Logan Zarin, Ethan Dotson, Jake Timm, Boom Briggs, Jordan Koehler, Tristan Chamberlain, and Jason Riggs completed the rest of the 28-car field.
