In some places, it can be illegal to sleep in your car overnight. In states like North Carolina, you can take a four-hour nap before you have to move along. A driver in Nevada probably wished he had woken up and left a gas station before he got shot.

Nevada man gets shot while sleeping in car at gas station

A Nevada man was being a responsible driver when he pulled over at a gas station to take a nap. Driving tired can be just as dangerous as driving drunk. However, he didn’t rest very well because he woke up after being shot during a random shooting spree.

The shooter also shot a gas station clerk and a truck driver during a rampage that spanned 90 miles from Nevada to the Mojave Desert.

According to CBS News, each victim was targeted along the I-15 Freeway. The first incident occurred as a man was shot along the Cima road in the Mojave Desert. Then a clerk was shot at a Chevron station about 20 miles away in Baker.

The shooter, identified as 35-year-old Antonio Chaidez, was firing random shots through a back door of the store. Then he opened fire on two semi-trucks. One of the truckers was hit at the gas station.

Then Chaidez left the area in a black pickup truck. He led police officers on a brief chase before being apprehended about 40 miles west of Baker.

Chaidez might be connected to another shooting in Las Vegas. Allegedly, he opened fire at Blue Diamond, a desert community with about 300 people.
