While jumping out of an SUV on the interstate is an effective way to avoid an argument, please don’t do that. It’s also extremely dangerous. Just stay calm and face the music. Jumping out of a Jeep to stop fighting didn’t end well for one Texas man.

Texas man jumps from Jeep to avoid an argument

31-year-old Gary Raymond Arriola Jr of El Paso, Texas just wasn’t ready  to talk about things. During an argument on Interstate 10 East near Loop 375, he jumped out of a 2003 Jeep Wrangler

El Paso police officers shared that the event occurred around 1:40 AM on May 18. Surprisingly, Arriola survived flying out of the SUV and hitting the pavement at highway speeds.

However, imagine how scared the driver was. The driver’s information hasn’t been released. According to the El Paso Times, the individual is 24 years old.

Emergency responders took Arriola to a local hospital to treat serious injuries. Unfortunately, passed away the next day. Police officers shared that the Special Traffic Investigations unit ruled that the death was ruled as an accident.

The El Paso Police Department noted that this is the 18th traffic death of 2025, compared to 29 in 2024. No more information has been released. It’s unclear what the verbal argument was about.

I wonder if the man was operating under the influence. Texas drivers can be pretty wild, so jumping out on the interstate seems like an extremely bad idea. Arriola could have easily been hit by another driver but his story didn’t end well anyways.
