Police find a man sitting in his driver’s seat in the middle of the road after a truck accident

44-year-old Gregory Baker is lucky to be alive after a violent pickup truck crash. He was found buckled in the driver’s seat after an accident caused his Chevrolet Silverado to completely rip in half.

Police officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Griswold and West Bergen roads after receiving reports of a collision between a Chevy pickup and a semi-truck.

The Silverado was ripped apart. The bed of a truck was on the left side of the road and the cab was on the right side as the driver’s seat was in the middle of the street.

Responding officers found that the tractor-trailer was traveling north on West Bergen Road as the driver of the Chevy failed to yield at a stop sign. As a result, Baker drove directly into the path of the semi-truck.

Both drivers received non-life-threatening injuries. Baker was airlifted to the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester New York with head and lower body injuries.

According to The Daily News Online, he was conscious and alert. But it only took seconds for the driver’s seat to go from inside the cab to falling onto the road.

The semi-truck had damage to its side. Some of its landing gear fell off during the impact of the collision. Police officers shared that the Chevy T-boned the tractor-trailer.

However, the investigation into this incident is still ongoing. No one has been charged yet. Officers shared that they don’t know what the charges will be.
