20-year-old Patrick Kane of Topsham Maine has two hobbies to be concerned about. He apparently loves going to jail and committing arson. Also, fire departments are tired of him.
The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate an explosion in the back of a pickup truck parked on 1475 Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville around 7:30 PM.
Then Maine State Police troopers identified Kane as a person of interest. He was out on a $20,000 bail at the time. They teamed up with the Gardiner Police Department to intercept him and detain him for questioning.
Firefighters with the Marshal’s Office also launched an investigation to determine the origin and cause of the explosion.
According to WMTW, investigators gathered probable cause to arrest Kane and charge him with arson for a second time after multiple interviews. He was also charged with violating conditions of release.

Back in April, 2024, Kane was one of four suspects arrested for arson charges related to three fires. One was at a vacant building, another was at a vacant mobile home in Woolwich, and the third home was in Dresden.
The people connected in the previous charge include 18-year-old Savannah Breton, 36-year-old Robert Matthews, and a juvenile.
Kane was taken to Waldo County Jail and was denied bail this time around. He will be held pending a court appearance on the new charges.
The incident is currently under investigation so no additional details have been released. But you could say that Kane is under fire now.
