Landon Morris Arrested for Street Racing During Date in Florida
Florida man Landon Morris has a name that can be easily confused with one of the most famous race car drivers on the planet. But police were not fooled after officers caught him speeding and driving recklessly during a first date on a Saturday night.
Witnesses say Morris’ Corvette sped through several Englewood neighborhoods. It then began doing donuts in a church parking lot.
“They went round and round and round. And at one point, the blue smoke was so dense you couldn’t see the black car,” said witness Mark Larkin.
Deputies respond as smoke clears
The smoke had barely cleared when a Charlotte County deputy arrived. Morris told deputies he had driven from Orlando for a first date with a woman from Rotunda West. The passenger apologized to officers and said she had asked Morris to perform the donuts.
Residents say that explanation does not fly. “Back off. We have families, we have children living in the area.”Deputies arrested Morris on street racing charges.
The story is gaining traction online because of Morris’ name. It closely resembles Lando Norris, who won the 2025 Formula 1 world championship with McLaren. You can see the latest coverage in the video embedded below:
