Sometimes, no matter how much money you have, it is items from our youth that mean the most to us. A perfect example of this occurred recently, when Jordyn Woods gave her NBA boyfriend, Karl-Anthony Towns, a special gift.

Jordyn Woods came up with the unique gift idea while they were talking about cars they wanted to drive someday. Towns and Woods have been dating since May 2020.

“During the summer, Karl asked me if I could drive any car for a day, which one would it be?” Woods wrote on Instagram on Saturday. “I answered, and his response was ‘I wouldn’t pick anything crazy, I just really loved my mom’s car she had when I was a kid.’

“So I went on a mission these past months to find the car, shipped it across the country, got it fixed up, and was able to surprise him with it today for his 30th!”

Towns lost his mother due to complications from COVID-19 in April 2020 at the age of 58. The car she used to drive, and that Woods tracked down, was a black 1990s Isuzu Trooper.

“This s— is so fire. This is the best thing ever,” Towns said in a video showing him with a giant smile on his face while driving the Trooper.

Woods’ gift to Towns shows sentiment is often more valuable than money

“She was an incredible source of strength; a fiery, caring, and extremely loving person who touched everyone she met. Her passion was palpable, and her energy will never be replaced,” the Towns family said upon Karl’s mother’s death.

“As Karl’s number one fan, Jackie provided constant and positive energy for him and was beloved by our entire organization and staff at Target Center,” his team at the time, the Minnesota Timberwolves, said after her passing.

Karl-Anthony Towns has already been paid over $284 million to play in the NBA. By the time he is done, he will have earned more than $402 million. He can literally buy almost anything he wants. His girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, a socialite-turned-entrepreneur, also has several million dollars to her name.

So, finding and fixing up his mom’s Isuzu Trooper was certainly made easier by that wealth. Regardless, it’s still nice to see how much something with more sentimental value than monetary value can bring someone.
