The Jeep Wrangler is Dangerously Close to Losing Against the Ford Bronco
When the Ford Bronco made its return in 2021, the Jeep Wrangler wasn’t worried at all. The Bronco got off to a slow start while the Wrangler continued to dominate. However, the tables have turned, and the Bronco could finally defeat its biggest rival.
The Ford Bronco is close to outselling the Jeep Wrangler
It’s time for the Jeep Wrangler to take the Ford Bronco as a serious threat. For the first time since 2021, the Bronco is dangerously close to selling more SUVs than the Wrangler.
During the first three quarters of 2025, the Wrangler moved 128,054 units. During the same time period, the Bronco sold 109,921 models. So, the Wrangler does have a lead of about 18,133 sales.
However, the fourth quarter and the last two months of 2025 could leave plenty of time for an upset. The Ford Bronco is currently benefitting from a sales increase of 39.62% year-over-year. It already smashed its sales record of 117,057 models back in 2022.
According to The Drive, retail sales are helping the Ford Bronco. It is the best seller in its segment. However, rental companies and fleets are still helping the Jeep Wrangler bolster its sales.
It’s no secret that the Wrangler has been struggling a little. It has been experiencing declining sales. At its peak, the current generation sold 240,032 models, and that dropped by about 90,000 models in 2024.
Of course, Toyota is responsible for taking sales away from the Bronco and the Wrangler with popular rugged models like the Land Cruiser and 4Runner.
