Thief hides from cops in SUV trunk
Police officers were on a routine patrol in Minnesota when they came across an odd scene. The officers noticed an SUV and a minivan parked side by side in a parking lot.
Then they spotted a person lying on the ground between the vehicles with a hand under the minivan. As the police officers turned around to check things out, the suspect climbed into the back of the SUV and closed the hatch.
The woman refused to exit the trunk, and they noticed that the van was leaking gas. It was clearly tampered with, and a plastic bucket was under the van to catch the gas. Plus, several tools and a gas canister were inside the SUV.
Police officers were finally able to get the woman to come out. According to limitless-news, the 35-year-old suspect denied touching the van and claimed to be sleeping in the SUV.
However, officers allege that she was trying to siphon gas from the minivan in the parking lot. The damage to that vehicle is an estimated $2,509.12. The suspect was charged with first-degree criminal property.
